Message from the Director
Dr. John Mendenhall II
Head Coach, Director NL Triathlon Team

On behalf of Team Next Level, I want to welcome you to our triathlon club! I’m very excited to be leading our club towards great success in the coming new year. The pandemic has caused quite the damper in the 2020 race season, but I am hopeful, as I’m sure you are, that 2021 will be THE year for all of us to get back on track to racing. Personally, I was disappointed that I couldn’t compete at the Olympic Distance World Championships this past August, but I look at the situation as having more time to really kick some butt in 2021!
As the Director of the Team Next Level Triathlon Club, I just wanted to share my background with you all, so that you can be confident in knowing that you’re getting high-caliber coaching and sound professional guidance.
As a college athlete, I was a former D1 swimmer at UMBC (I won the NCAAs during my senior year in breaststroke). After graduate school, I completed my first half Ironman with a time of 4:46 (Atlantic City) and my first Ironman at Ironman Maryland with a time of 9:37. I also qualified for both Nationals and World Championships in Olympic Distance.
Professionally, I received my Doctorate in Physical Therapy form Rutgers University and have been practicing as a DPT at Next Level Physio. Like my colleagues here, I help active men and women over 40 and their families get to their next level- whether it be recovering from an injury, getting back to fitness, or performing athletics at a high level.
